Rocky Start- Duo - Guitarists / Vocalists / Club Music and Dance

Rocky Start is compromised of two guitarists/vocalists, Joe Serrato and Bob Steinberg and a drummer/vocalist, Peter Baker. They incorporate state of the art midi digital sequencing technology on stage and with their unique style, and provide a sound that is second to none in the desert area. All of the excitement of live guitar, drums and vocals backed up by digitally generated bass and keyboards provide a club/dance sound that has often been mistaken for a four or five piece group. Although this band is adaptable to virtually any size room, Rocky Start is by no means your run-of-the-mill “lounge trio”. This dynamic trio has been performing at dance clubs in the high desert and are considered to be one of the hottest bands around. About Joe and Peter

Joe Serrato was born and raised in the desert. He has performed and recorded with many other talented artists in the area throughout his career. He is highly regarded by his peers as one of the fmest guitarists in the area. Joe’s ability to reproduce the sounds of recording artists from all areas of the music spectrum has earned him the respect and admiration of his fans and fellow players. Joe has an ear for composition, balance and tone. Together with his strong lead and harmonic vocal ability, Joe Serrato is a talent that leads and/or compliments any group or show.

Peter Baker grew up in Orange County, California and has been in the Palm Springs area for the past twelve years. Peter started playing at the age of eight and was singing at the ripe old age or fourteen. He brings with him several years of experience in live performance and recording. The groups Peter performed with in Southern California were primarily club bands performing at many of the top dance clubs in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and Anaheim. Peter also appeared at many theme parks and state Ihirs across America, i.e., Disneyland, Six Flags, Marriott’s Great America and Disneyworld, while on the road with Willie Aames and Paradise.

Since moving to the Coachella Valley from New York, Bob Steinberg has been practicing internal medicine/integrative medicine for the past 25 years. In high school and college he had played in various bands. Bob has played with many independent musicians in and out of the Coachella Valley in the form of jam sessions and casual gettogethers and as a substitute with more established bands. He is known locally as the Rokndok.

With the formation of “Rocky Start”, this new endeavor creates a sound that is unsurpassed by any of their previous ventures. The group’s repertoire ranges from today’s modern and classic rock to southern and country rock; ballads, blues, funk and rhythm & blues. This wide variety of styles is great for all types of social events such as birthdays, anniversaries, night clubs, corporate functions, weddings, etc.
